Spring Flowers in Turku

I took these pictures of the first flowers that appeared after the beginning of spring this year around the city of Turku in Western Finland. While most of the trees are still without leaves in the early spring, the sight of the first spring flowers gives an indication that the natural scenery is about the turn beautiful after the depressing late winter weather. I walked around a few parks and trails nearby to take these pictures, which are mostly of the anemone (windflower) flowers.

The first pictures are from a trail in the area of Halinen, where the trail goes along the Aurajoki River. There are some forested areas there where I saw the first flowers in spring, which were the pink anemone hepaticas.

The next pictures are from the Katariinanlaakso Nature Reserve, where there are trails going through the forest there.

The next pictures are from the island of Ruissalo, where there are many short trails around the nature there.
