In the town of Noormarkku in Western Finland, there is a region of pretty old villas and houses around an old ruukki industrial area. Ruukki (or bruk) is a type of an old metal factory that used to exists in nordic countries. The area was bought by an indrustialist A. Ahlstrรถm in 1870 who expanded the place with new buildings and villas. Most of the buildings in the Noormarkku ruukki area have been turned into museums while some are still in use for their original purposes. There are paths in the area where you can walk around and see the old buildings. I took these pictures while walking around the place during one winter day. I was lucky to get pictures while there was still some snow on the ground, since most of it had almost completely melted by the end of the day.
A road from the northern side of the river goes to the ruukki area. The road goes past the yard of the Havulinna villa, where there are paths through small tree plantations to the villa.

At the ruukki area, there is a small park area and old buildings which you can walk around. Most of the old industrial buildings are turned into museums. There is however, the hydroelectric power plant built in 1896 that is still working and producing electricity.

On the other side of the river is the main office of the Ahlstrรถm’s company, which is still used today by the company.
