Lakes of Lapakisto

Lapakisto nature reserve near the city of Lahti contains lakes, cliffs, and small swamps. It contains multiple paths that are a few kilometers long in through the reserve. I went there at sunrise during early spring when most of the snow in the south had melted but deciduous trees still had no leaves. Here are some of the pictures I took from Lapakisto from morning to midday. The black-and-white images are taken with film and color images are taken with a digital camera.

A built wooden path near the entrance over the swampy ground went to the coast of Lapakisto lake. From there, the path becomes a regular trail that was flooded at parts because of the melting snow.

Before the sun rose above the trees on the other side of Lapakisto lake I took some pictures of the treeline on the other side of the lake.

I took the next pictures after the sun had risen enough to illuminate the coast of the lakes. The first one is from the Lapakisto lake and the second image is from Sammalisto lake, which is a bigger lake in the area.

The rest of the path I traveled went trough the swampy areas, forests, and other lakes of the Lapakisto area. The next pictures are from another lake on the edge of the nature reserve, where there were cottages just on the other side of the lake, and from the forest path on the coast of one of the lakes.
